Edwin & Sharon go on an Alaska cruise

Edwin & I went on our first 7-day cruise to Alaska. It was simply amazing. Here is a short slide show of some of the pictures we took. Enjoy ...

Edwin liked the buffet the best. I think he just liked the desserts. He had a great time trying all the different kinds of food and desserts. I thought it was fun to have someone wait on you and put your napkin in your lap. Either way, the food on the cruise was very good. We were NOT able to find ice cream at 11:00 p.m. though (my only complaint).

Edwin went on the Zip line at Icy Strait Point. It was billed as the longest zip line. Edwin took a bus up to the top of the mountain where it was FREEZING. He was wearing two coats and he was still cold. They were told to stay together on the trail down to the zip lines as there were bears in the area ... wonderful. Edwin enjoyed the zip line as it was his first time. We found these cute little stuffed eagles and you could have put in a salmon can and mailed back home, so we got an eagle for both Jaden and Hui-Hui.

We stopped at Skagway and Juneau. We took the White Pass and Yukon train to the top of the mountain. We even found a book for Jaden titled "Grandma and Grandpa go on the White Pass and Yukon train", so of course we bought it. In Juneau we went to the fish hatchery and went to the Glacier Visitors Center. Edwin walked toward the glacier (while I tried to find Jaden the perfect souvenir) and saw wild mountain goats ... pretty cool. Of course we went shopping at all the ports.

There was so much to do on the ship. I took a couple of scrapbooking classes. We also played Bingo and watched a man behind us win a 7-day cruise and another lady win a jackpot of over $4,000.00 -- that was very exciting. Edwin went to the gym and used the treadmill (he saw a whale tail in front of him -- the whale's tail just came out of the water). We played goofy golf and Edwin did the rock climbing thing. Here's a quick video of that.

Can't wait until we go again. This should be happening in about a year since it looks like the Low Family will be taking a cruise in August 2010. It will be a great time.

Por-Por joins Goong-Goong in heaven

Edwin's mom passed away peacefully in her sleep on May 19, 2009. Here is the slide show that we put together for her service. I got a little carried away while scanning old pictures (there were so many to choose from) - it's about 15 minutes long, so feel free to stop it whenever you have seen enough.

She will be missed by all but we are glad that they are together again.

FEBRUARY 2009 SNOW TRIP

The whole family went up to Lake Tahoe for a couple of days for our annual "Snow trip". There wasn't as much snow as there was last year but we had fun. Kenji and Melo joined us for the weekend so Jennifer, Dennis, Kenji, and Melo went to Diamond Peak for snowboarding on Friday. Michelle, Brandon, and Jaden came up on Saturday. We went to saucer hill on Monday and it actually snowed while we were there. We have pictures of Jaden on the sled and sitting in the snow. We "borrowed" someone's snowman and took pictures with it (hahaha) - usually the kids make their snow creations but there wasn't enough snow at the resort to do that. On Tuesday, Michelle, Brandon, Edwin, and Jenny went to Heavenly to snowboard (Edwin went skiing). Jaden stayed with his Por-Por and they had fun playing at the resort. As usual, we had a great time. Check out the following pictures of our trip.

There's travel plans being made ...

I'm posting our family Christmas picture from Christmas Eve. Brandon missed Christmas Eve this year because he was sick, but we photoshopped him in.

It's been a long time between posts, so I'll update you on the travel plans in the works for the family.

We will be going to Tahoe for a little less than a week to play in the snow with Jaden. The kids will go snowboarding while we watch Jaden at the condo. Edwin will go skiing on Friday and Michelle will go snowboarding on Monday. Jaden is ready for the snow as his mother has bought him TWO snowsuits (one for sitting in the snow and one for just being cute). He has like a million hats, so he is ready. Brandon got this cool toboggan thing and we have two plastic sleds, so we will be going to "saucer hill". The kids will bring their wii, so we will be playing Rock Band and Guitar Hero all weekend - they invite Edwin & I to play just so they can laugh. NICE KIDS. Kenji & Melo will be joining us for the weekend so it will be lots of fun. I'll write again after it happens.

Edwin & Sharon will be taking an Alaskan Cruise in May. It's our first real cruise so we are very excited. Edwin is not looking forward to the formal dinners but he will survive. I hope to get video of him on the rock climbing wall on the ship.

Edwin & Sharon (along with my mom, dad, and Ginger) will travel back to New Hampshire for Hui-Hui's birthday (in November). Hopefully it won't snow while we are there. We had a great time last time we went there. We are looking forward to it.

The whole family will be going to Hawaii in December - we decided to go to Hawaii instead of Disneyland this year. We have the three-bedroom Presidential Suite booked at the Wyndham at Waikiki Beach Walk. It looks like a nice resort. This will be the first time we go to Hawaii as a family (other than me and the girls going there for a competition).

Everyone is well. I'll post again when we get back from Tahoe.
